Rift & Quarter-Sawn Oak

The art of milling quarter-sawing oak, or rift quartered oak, (sometimes called “tiger” oak) is a superior technique of the past and Delta Plus Floors has re-introduced a time-honored practice of using quarter-sawn flooring for beauty and stability over flat or plane-sawn flooring. Rift & Quartered oak flooring is recognized as some of the most stable, beautiful flooring in the world.

Mesquite

Known to be one of the hardest hardwoods in North America (Texas), mesquite is twice as hard as white oak on the Janka Scale. The Janka hardness of a particular wood is a goo indicator of its resistance to wear and denting. White oak is rated at 1360 while mesquite is rated at 2345. Texas Mesquite’s hardness is rated right up there along with Brazilian Cherry (2350) and many other South American hardwoods. And the look is one of the ultimate in Southwest architecture.

True Hand-scraped

Imperfection makes an object unique. Chisel marks, half-moon indentations, chatter and slight variations in color are the characteristics that give a handcrafted floor real value. It is an authentic, one-of-a-kind work of beauty. True hand-scraped flooring does NOT include these factory pre-finished floors that merely look like rippling sand dunes. True hand-scraped flooring is an art to make and there are no machines involved. It’s all done by hand. Thus the term “hand-scraped.”

Antique-Reclaimed-Distressed

Reclaimed antique oak flooring, known for its strength, durability and resistance to wear, has been salvaged from wood joists, rafters, granary boards, siding and floor boards in old barns and other wooden structures. Its natural beauty, rich patina and unrivaled character is enhanced by earth tones, tight knot structure, slight checking and varying grain patterns. It’s sure to perfectly complement any room in your home for that special feel.

All our Reclaimed-Antique-Distressed flooring is FSC Certified.
